If there isn't Convo, I go to Purple as I prefer Purple over Sorenson or ZVRS. Now Convo that's a different story, Convo is owned by Deaf and they knows ASL so they know if the interpreters really know ASL or not before hiring them to interpret for us on VP. Sorenson or Purple could easily let in ASL 1 or 2 interpreter in while thinking that they are intermediate ASL interpreter because they don't know ASL like we do, since it's owned by hearing people. So I want to give my business to a business that needs it the most especially if it's owned by Deaf and beside if it's owned by Deaf then it means it's more suitable for me because they knows what I need since they are Deaf. But funny thing is Convo is owned by Deaf and Sorenson/Purple is owned by hearing. I personally don't like Sorenson, maybe it's me but I don't like to give my business to biggest VRS provider as Sorenson owns the most VRS industry in market (80% something) while other providers struggles with trying to earn higher percent of these 20 percents. Won't have to wait to see if you are approved or whatever. As soon as you are done registering they give you a new number right away at the end of registration. Of course you have to apply at Convo which is fast, it takes about 5 minutes to apply then you gets your own number right away and you can use Convo on anything (apps for cell phones or tablets, if no apps then use ).Ĭlick to expand.Should have create a number with Convo! Convo doesn't have a pending system. So in other words, anything that have internet browser and webcam you can call anyone by Convo. If you have smart TV like Samsung, you can buy Samsung TV webcam for your Samsung Smart TV then call away. Xbox 360, Xbox One have web cam accessory so you can type that address to your Xbox One or Xbox 360 internet browser and Playstation 3 or 4 has webcam as accessory too so you type that address to your PS3 or PS4 then log in and call away. All you have to do is type on internet browser on any devices. Playstation? Yep that too! No VRS has these except Convo so Convo have wider products and more way to VP than any of other VRS providers. AND they have a product calls "Anywhere" where you can literally VP on anything that have internet browser and camera. Second since Convo is owned by Deaf people, they screen interpreters much better as their first language is ASL and others like Sorenson or Purple is owned by hearing people (most of them don't know ASL) so they wouldn't know if the interpreters is actually good when they screens them.Ĭ - One number for all, you can use Convo via app and via any kinds of video phone, software for computers. Owned by Deaf people, that means they share Deaf culture therefore they understand the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals truly so that is why Convo is built with Deaf people in mind unlike other providers such as Sorenson or Purple as they built with money (greed) in mind. So using Convo as your video relay service is a no-brainer for two reasons.
